
The URSULINE CONVENT SCHOOL St. Francis
GENERAL INFORMATION
The School is situated in the residential suburbs of Bridgetown and stands on about nine acres of land roughly one mile from the city centre and half a mile from the Caribbean Sea. It is managed by a Board of Gover-nors and administered by the Sisters of the Ursuline Con-vent.
The Aims of St. Francis are:
1. To provide quality education to males between the ag-es of 11 and 17
2. To facilitate the total development of each individual by giving due attention to each sphere: intellectual, spiritual, physical, social, emotional and moral.
3. To produce good Christian citizens, capable of taking their place in society with a capacity for responding maturely to responsibility. This calls for training in self discipline, the exercise of initiative and concern for others expressed in good manners and a spirit of service.
The Curriculum in St. Francis consists of:
a) Academic and Practical Subjects:
Students are prepared for Caribbean Examinations in English Language and Literature, History, Geog- raphy, Social Studies, Spanish, French, Mathemat- ics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Food Nutrition & Health, Family Resource Management, EDPM, Vis- ual Arts, Principles of Business, Principles of Ac- counts, Information Technology, Theatre Arts and Physical Education. Options are made in the final two years
